Lt George Koppen was the first Dutch pilot to plan a flight to the Netherlands East Indies. Apparently the British refused permission to pass through British territory in Asia in this former German warplane, made available to Koppen by the Dijksman company in Zeist, the Dutch agents of Albatros. It is seen here being offloaded near Soesterberg airfield. The railway station here was the Spitfire bar in Soesterberg's days as a USAFE base.
