Delivered to the USAAF as 41-27481 in 1942. To the Turkish Air Force as 6880 in 1948. At the museum when it opened in 1998 marked as 3-833. Later corrected to 3-880.

This 1944 Dakota was received by the Turkish AF as long ago as 1948 and was last noted stored at Erkilet in 1994

The highlight of an Ankara trip - had recently landed with VIPs on board - and just in time, as within a few weeks of the photo, this superb Viscount (formerly THY's TC-SEL) was retired to the Yesilkoy museum where she still resides. Was briefly marked up in old THY colours to represent TC-SEV for a film in 2006. That aircraft crashed on approach to Gatwick in 2.59 carrying the Turkish prime minister
