This is a Fokker built F-16A (FMS 88-0006, Fokker L-285) , which made its first flight on 23 October 1990. The aircraft was delivered to the Koninklijke Luchtmacht (KLu, Royal Netherlands Air Force) on 15 November 1990. It is pictured here high of the Waddenzee, north of the Netherlands, when the Fighting Falcon was lining up next to the KDC-10 tanker.

Special tail markings for the 40th anniversary of 322 Squadron, which was formed at RAF Woodvale on 12 June 1943. The aircraft was written off at Leeuwarden AB, sadly with the loss of its pilot Captain J.C. de Vries, after ingesting a heron during its take-off roll.

Dutch Fokker built F-16A FMS serial 85-0135 was delivered to 315sq of the Royal Netherlands Air Force at Twente air base on 30 June 1987. It received a Mid-Life Update from June 1989. Here the F-16AM is seen, fully armed, with the 1(NLD) Air Task Force at Kandahar supporting the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). J-135 returned to homebase Volkel in late 2013. It was withdrawn from use at Volkel air base and eventually scrapped by late 2020.

The Teuge team of enthusiasts managed to restore former Luftwaffe F-104 2646 into a near mint sixties era KLu example, including the grey colours and sixties sidewinders. When Teuge airfield closed for the night the Starfighter was positioned on the threshold. Thanks to the entire team to make this photo shoot possible!

It served the KLu squadrons before it was modified to F-16AM in a Midlife Update program in 1998. It continued the Dutch squadrons before it was transferred to 306sq - the Dutch F-16 training squadron at Springfield - in December 2009. It is seen here operating from the Ohio base days after its arrival, still in 322sq markings. The F-16AM was transfered to the Dutch occupied 148th FS at Tucson (AZ) where it still (2022) serves young pilots that learn to fly the F-16.
