During WWI, expatriot Czechs, the Czechoslovak Legions, fought with the Allies in France, Italy and Russia in exchange for support for the independence of Czechoslovakia from the Austrian Empire. Those in Russia also ended up fighting the Bolseviks and so did not return to their homeland until 1920, bringing four of these LWF (Lowe, Willard & Fowler Engineering Company) Tractors with them. This original is the only survivor of the approx. 140 built and is on display at the Národní technické muzeum in Prague.

Ex Dutch East Indies Air Force Lockheed 18 impressed by the USAAF after it was flown to Australia to escape the Japanese advance. Given the callsign VHCAA and flown by QEA crews on transport missions into Papua New Guinea. This photo believed to be taken when QEA chief Hudson Fysh travelled on one of those missions. Supplies were flown in and wounded flown out. VHCAA became VH-APZ after the war. The location of this photo is difficult to establish as there were at least 15 runways and airfields around Dobodura. A 5th generation prototype... This F-22A model 1, rolled out at Dobbins on 10 February 1998 and made its first flight at 29 June 1998. The Raptor, serial 91-4002, was ferried to Edwards AFB for the flight test programme with the 411th Flight Test Squadron on 26 August 1998. The picture was made at Edwards air show in October 1999. The Raptor - only a couple of months old and in full swing in its test environment - was at that moment parked next to that other magic plane.
