Seen during the heritage open day at the Shuttleworth Collection. N7779 / S-11 is a 1940 Ryan STM-S2. Delivered to the Dutch Naval Air Service in the Netherlands East Indies with serial S-40 in February 1941. Evacuated to Australia in February 1942. Transferred to the Royal Australian Air Force as A50-31 and used until 1945 when it joined the civil register as VH-AGZ. To the US in 2003 as N7779 and painted back into Dutch Naval Air Services markings but for some reason as S-11 rather than S-40. It has been based at Old Warden since 2020.
