On 16 August 2005, 188745 was the number 2 of a 2-plane Basic Fighter Manoeuvres mission over the Saguenay Training area, some 60NM to the northeast of CFB Bagotville (Canada). During the 1st engagement, 745 was in the defensive role and during and aggressive defensive manoeuvre the aircraft departed controlled, possobly due to a lateral asymmetry flight. FMS serial 78-0261, a Fokker built F-16B (local construction number L-007), made its first flight on 9 November 1979 and was delivered to the Koninklijke Luchtmacht on 29 February 1980. The KLu made use of the aircraft until 20 March 2002, when it arrived at Soesterberg air base. It was stored in shelter 401 and destined as a instructional airframe for the fire brigade at Leeuwarden. The Fighting Falcon was later reported as scrapped at Oudemolen facility in July 2013. Here the aircraft finds its way to runway 10 of Gilze Rijen during the out-of-the-area Tactical Leadership Programme 1995.
