Early production F-27-100 delivered to the Department of Aviation in September 1959 and continuing with the CSIRO into the 1990's.

Purchased by the Department of Civil Aviation it was first flown as PH-FAZ on the 11th os September 1959. It Entered the Australian Register on the 28th of September 1959. it was cancelled from the Australian Register on the 27th of June 2006. It is now located at the South Australian Aviation Museum at Port Adelaide.

Used for airways calibration from September 1969, VH-CAT was sold to the government research organisation CSIRO in 1978.

VH-CAT was delivered to the Department of Civil Aviation in 1959 and operated on calibration work until 1978, when it was sold to the CSIRO. Over the next 20 years it was used for scientific research which at times required being fitted with a long nose probe, which earned it the nickname Cyrano, after Cyrano de Bergerac. VH-CAT was withdrawn from use and eventually displayed at the South Australia Aviation Museum.
