The WG.30 was originally known as the Super Lynx, alluding to its military derivation but was never very successful, only 40 being made. 21 went to India as part of an aid deal from 1986 (2 w/o and 19 thought still to be stored). This 1981-built example was retained by Westland and was later moved to Italy for structural testing prior to development of the AW.139
