This 737 spent its entire career in Southern Africa. First flown at Boeing Field 7 April 1970, it was delivered to South African Airways 15 April, remaining with the airline until sold to Comair 1 August 1992. Duiring its tenure with Comair, it carried both Comair and British Airways titles. Seen here at then Jan Smuts International in Citijet livery which was Comair's inter-city operation during the early nineties. Withdrawn from use in July 2004 and parted out at Johannesburg. Parked in front of the Rutaca hangars in Ciudad Bolivar, this AeroGal B737-200 without registration. According to most databases this should be HC-CFR, sold to Rutaca in 2011, I presume for parts, as their flying business had already been reduced to minimal.

This B737 (one of the old and noisy kind, now almost extinct) was acquired by American through their take-over of AirCal in 1987. It was withdrawn from use a year after this photo was taken, and then spent some years in Mexico, before ending up with an airline in Peru in 1998. It was acquired by the Peruvian Air Force in 2005, but by 2014 they had abandoned it in a boneyard at Lima-Callao.
