Originally N1307T with Texas International. Later to Lineas Aereas Suramericanas as HK-4246X. Crashed 84 miles NE of Mitu (Colombia) possibly due to some sort of structual failure.

While taxiing to the active runway, I had a good view of the maintenance center at Alajuela. Some interesting aircraft parked there. This one is ex. N130ST (Trans Texas Airlines, Texas Int'l Airlines, Air National). As N563PC, she served with Purolator, Emery Worldwide, Kitty Hawk, C&M Airways and Frontera Flight Holdings. Since October 2017 part of the Aeronaves fleet as XA-TIG.

Originally delivered to Texas International September 1967 as N1303T, before arriving for Finnair 1972. Along with OH-LYI were only DC-9-15MC (Minimum Change) planes which made it possible to use it for passenger and cargo flights. Since 1981 fly cargo only. Sold to Evergreen 1988 as N916F and has become later XA-XUP.

This plane was abandoned in Manta for about a year. The owners later returned and took the plane elsewhere.

This DC-9 was originally delivered to Continental as N8908 in September 1967. It went on to fly for Air Florida and Air Canada before joining Kalitta, originally as N166DE, in June 2013. The plane is still active with Aeronaves TSM as XA-VFD.
