Former Buffalo Airways PBY C-FOFI was added to the Hans Lauridsen collection in 2005, arriving at Glendale Airport on delivery on 5 October 2005. It was assigned registration N343CV in February 2005, but this was not taken up and it was delivered as C-FOFI. It was eventually registered as N413PB a few months after this photo was taken, in October 2007. The aircraft is seen here undergoing restoration on the ramp, before being moved to Buckeye, AZ in late 2011/early 2012.

Built for U.S. Navy as PBV-1A BuAer 68046 but operated in WW2 by USAAF as AO-10A 44-34082. Served Cathay Pacific as VR-HDS. Seen when Kenyan registered in the VP-Kxx 'colonial' series. To N1508V in 1954.

Built as PBY-5A Bu.48322 for the US Navy. Converted for water bombing for the Protection Civile and delivered just before this photo. Crashed in France on 8 November 1967.

Ordered by US Navy as Bu33993 but diverted to US Air Force as OA-10A 43-43847. Seen here after conversion to Steward-Davis Super Cat standards.

Canadian Vickers Canso built as RCAF 11060. Used by Executive for surveys using anomaly gear and 'stinger' tail. Later to Point Cook Museum as 'A24-104'.

N68740 appeared at Bankstown briefly for maintenance before returning to the Indonesian province of West Irian, where it was used to support Freeport Indonesia's mining operation. In 1971 it was replaced by a Fairchild F27. N68740 went to the US where was converted into a luxury air yacht. It was last reported at the Pima Air Museum, Arizona.

In January 1981 N68756 was painted in the RAAF markings seen here and, sponsored by Newcastle TV station NBN and the RSL Building Society, was brought to Australia for a tour coinciding with the RAAF's 60th anniversary. The aircraft returned to the US a few months later and was withdrawn from use in 1986. It became derelict at various locations in Texas, before being used as a spares source by HARS circa 2008 and the Pima Air Museum, AZ in 2009. In September 2017 it was sold to MotoArt Studios and broken up, to be converted into luxury furniture.

The aircraft used to pioneer a crossing of the South Pacific from Australia to Chile in 1951 under the command of Captain P.G.Taylor. The Boeing Canada built aircraft, a Catalina Mk.VI (ex RAF JX630), was stored after the flight, firstly at Rathmines flying boat base then from 1959 until the mid 1960s at Rose Bay. It has since been fully restored, reassembled and is displayed at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney.

This Canadian Vickers-built Canso (ex C-FJCV, CF-JCV, RCAF 11054) was hired from its owners, Catalina Safari Company, to fly the Peter Stuyvesant Travel Odyssey in 1993. This was a filmed tour to Mexico, USA, Newfoundland, Greenland and Iceland. It included a contest between teams from the Netherlands, Belgium and France, and was later shown on TV in these countries. After a job well done, the Catalina returned to Africa to fly tourists from Egypt to Zimbabwe, but was sold as ZK-PBY a year later. It was still active there in 2016.
