This lovely aircraft was the winner of the Concours d'Elegance and Best Tube and Fabric awards at the SAAA's 2008 'Escape to Cowra' fly-in. It's seen here getting airborne in the capable hands of owner-builder Rainer Huefner for a display at the Houdini-Centenary Air Show. As Rainer was careful to point out to me, this aircraft is not a One Design as it departs in some respects from the strict requirements for that classification.

Built earlier in the year, this is a type new to me

Part of the flight-line at Melton on the eve of the Houdini-Centenary Air Show: first is Rainer Huefner's DR-107; then the Pitts Super Stinker and Debonair of the Skyblazers formation aerobatic team; then Australia's longest-registered, airworthy aircraft, DH60 Moth VH-UAE; and finally Chieftain VH-ZUM.

Going around after the preceeding aircraft failed to clear the runway
