Ex VH-ICP, ZK-VAM wears an abomination colour scheme with a non-standard kiwi roundel - should be red and facing the other way - and an RAAF serial

DH Australia-built Vampire Trainer painted in RAF-style camouflage. Ex A79-613.

Built in Australia under licence. Aircraft was still operational with the RAAF at this date.

A79-642 was displayed outside the Hawker de Havilland factory where it had been built. Its condition deteriorated and it was replaced by another Vampire. From then on -642 was passed around the company before being sold to the Camden Museum of Aviation. In 2000 it was acquired by the Temora Aviation Museum as spares for the airworthy A79-617 (VH-VAM).

Delivered to the RAAF 21 May 58; to CFS East Sale, then 1AFTS Pearce, WA. Withdrawn Jan 70 & sold 17 Jun - exported to USA becoming N11923. Various owners until acquired by David Lowy Mar 99. Shipped to Sydney & restored Bankstown, ff 5 Jun 01. Registered VH-VAM to Temora Aviation Museum 2 Feb 01.

This aircraft is actually a composite made from the wings and tail booms of A79-827 and the fuselage pod of A79-616. It was restored at RAAF East Sale in the 1990s for the RAAF Museum. A79-616 was one of 68 Vampire T Mk 35s delivered from 1957 to enable the RAAF pilot's course to include jet training. The Vampire was phased out in 1969. This aircraft is painted in the markings of the 'Telstars' aerobatic team from the Central Flying School at East Sale.

VH-ICP was sold in New Zealand as ZK-VAM in January 1991.

VH-HLF was registered in February 1988 and operated by the RAAF Historical Flight. Grounded when airframe reached end of design life.

Australian-built Vampire Trainer T.35 ex RAAF A79-635. Sold to USA for private flying.

One of 2 Vampires bought by the late Arnold Glass for private use. -637, now with HARS, is still under restoration..
