Tanker 139 together with N140HP/140 (cn 7102). These beauties could not have looked better when H&P started operating them in 1990 after overhaul and modifications. Since their contract had been cancelled in May 2004 they were waiting for another smoky start-up. For that, their remaining service life had to be established, a tough and costly operation. Nevertheless, it was successfully completed for this airframe that flew on as Tanker 43, N443NA. [Velvia 50, DiMage Scan]

Two immaculate Neptunes in eye-catching colors at the Greybull museum. Tanker 139 retained the long tail cone that used to house the MAD (Magnetic Anomaly Detection) sensors while Tanker 140 received a short version. There aren't too many of these compact cones and they all seem different in shape. [Nikon F100]
