This aircraft was stored here, corroding away for many years until it was broken up in 1979.

Built as an RC-121D and progressively updated as EC-121D, then EC-121H and finally EC-121T. Retired to MASDC in late 1978 by the Homestead AFB-based 79 AEW & CS, with 20980 hrs recorded. Later broken up

The only time I got to see an Indian Connie... but I'm not complaining, what a fine sight! First delivered to Air India as VT-DJW "Rani of Bijapur" in 7.58; passed to the Air Force in 4.62 after freighter conversion. The Indian military was forced to retire its Constellations when Air India would no longer perform maintenance on them due to lack of spares; BG579 made the final flight on 31.3.84. BG583 was wfu at Pune in 1983 and apparently moved to Agra for storage for the IAF Museum. It survived there until at least late 1998, but its current status is unclear.

In Australia in connection with Apollo program. Ex NASA 20, it wore the marks NASA 420 from 1967 to 1969 when it went onto the FAA registry as N420NA.

HI-548CT seconds before touchdown on runway 9L. Thanks to Dominican carriers such as this one Miami saw a wonderful revival of Connie operations during the late 1980s and early 1990s. This particular Connie was delivered to the USAF in 1956 as 54-0183, and was written off while in storage at Santo Domingo on September 22, 1998, when a C-46 Commando collided into it during Hurricane Georges.

Looking derelict, this aircraft did actually look better than when I had seen it four years earlier. It did fly again and is now preserved at the former Fantasy of Flight near Polk City, FL (aka Orlampa).

A Constellation in flight… Sheer grace and beauty. If only today's boring Boeing/Airbus shapes could be replaced by this...! This is what Miami still used to be like in the early 1990s. This Connie, and another one, then a DC-7 and a Mexican DC-6 would all pass this point on short final runway 09L within 20 minutes… Paradise!

AMSA's "City of Miami" grumbles past on one of its many cargo flights into Miami. This was the second of two Connies on approach to runway 09L within 5 minutes, a wonderful experience! In 1992 this aircraft was damaged when a DC-4 ran into it at Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and it was stored there. Eleven years later, in 2003, the Ramey AFB Historical Association started work to restore her for display at the Ramey AFB in MATS colours. Unfortunately the work was later halted, but this Connie was still there by early 2018.
