Ex USAAF 42-68851, a C-53D-DO.

Taking off at Flying Legends 2014. Painted in unusual Norway AF / RAF No. 20 Transport Squadron markings, which were only briefly carried in Norway between June 1945 and Feb 1946. This Squadron, unrelated to the RAF's own No.20 Squadron, was in fact a continuation of the German Air Force 20 Transportfliegergeschwader. The squadron, formally controlled by the RAF, was the first step in re-establishing civil aviation in Norway after the war, using several DC-3s and Lockheed L-18 Lodestars. In 1946 the DC-3s were transferred to DNL, Norway's main pre-war airline and one of the predecessors of SAS.

Ex USAAF 42-68750, a C-53D-DO. The cheat line follows the same form as North Central, the previous operator.

Built as a C-53D-DO for the USAAF, 42-68718. Other regns include NC44883, N61SA and CU-T127.

The magnificent Aviodrome museum has a replica of the 1928 Amsterdam Airport terminal building and here, with Dakota Norway's aircraft sitting in front, it looks totally appropriate

Broken up at Kastrup in July 1968.

Built for USAAF as C-53D. Later served Continental and Southern Airways. Modified to DC-3A. Flown by Florida Air Lines from 1972. Later sold to Cuba.

Aircraft was severely damaged by Hurricane Wilma in October 2005 and dismantled. The damaged aircraft was stored at Shell Creek Airport in Punta Gorda, Florida, and it was still there by 2014, in dismantled condition.

Seen arriving for the meeting of Dakotas organised by the Aviodrome. Whilst the weather conditions were poor, the light seemed to suit this highly polished aircraft

This colourful DC-3 was one of many in derelict condition at San Jaun in the early 1980s. Previously YV-C-AVY of Avensa and not recorded after 1982

After serving SAS/ABA and Air Outremer, this aircraft was bought by Air Kruise (Kent) in 1955, later wearing the colours of Silver City and BUA before joining the newly-formed Air Anglia in Nov 1971. She went to Skyways Cargo in Nov 1975 then Ethiopian Airlines as ET-AGR in Jul 1977 but was written off in an air raid at Jijiga, Ethiopia the next month.

Damaged by Hurricane Wilma in 2005. Disassembled and stored at Shell Creek Airport in Punta Gorda, FL in 2017.

Built for USAAF in 1943 as 42-68700. Operated by Eastern Airlines frrom 1945. Flown by Flight Safety Inc in the early 1970s as an advanced trainer.

Built for USAAF in 1943 as 42-68804. Postwar it served American and Ozark. During the mid 1970's it was flown by IMS Inc and by this date it had been changed from left to right hand door status.
