This aircraft was one of a batch of 355 L-21Bs supplied to European nations under the Mutual Defense Assistance Program (MDAP) in the early 1950s, this aircraft went to the Italian Army as MM 54-2526 and, although the airframe is much modified, it has been restored in the colours it wore at that time.
