These Pumas belong to the EOS1 (1°Escadrille des Opérations Spéciales), the French Army-led flight of the GIH (Groupe Interarmées d'Hélicoptères), a joint Army-Air Force unit set up the year before (2006). This unit provides a helicopter support to the GSIGN, the French Gendarmerie elite counter-terrorism squad.

Not a very nice shot, but of historic significance as this very aircraft crashed a year later, on 10 March 1998.

Operated by 355 Mira and seen over Laganis, Zakynthos, while fire-fighting in the mountains nearby.

A CL-215-III, delivered to 355 MTM at Elefsis on 29 May 1979. The aircraft was written off on 25 July 2023 when battling a wildfire as part of firefighting operations in Karystos, Evia. The CL-215 clipped a tree with its right float while conducting a drop, made a sharp right turn, before stalling and crashing into a mountainside.
