Ex PP527, 6-11 (F-11) and 11-11 (K-11), Firefly 16-11 (P-11) served with Aircraft Squadron VSQ 1 here in Curaçao and was struck off charge on 21 May 1953 following an accident. 16-21, 16-19 and 16-17, in the background, were withdrawn in 1954 and scrapped. The Iraqi air Force used the 162nd Fighter Wing for F-16 conversion training. Iraq bought 36 F-16Cs, of which 28 F-16Cs eight F-16Ds. The Vipers are often designated IQ, that's the variant Iraq bought. These are Block 52s, but the many avionics and systems of these Blocks are downgraded. The IQs can not operate (yet) with sophisticated weapons, like precision guided weapons, that are normally used with the Block numbers.
