The people in front of the Hornet are probably members of the Aviation Group Leeuwarden. For many years this society had access to the airbase to get pictures up close to the aircraft.

Assigned to the 1 Canadian Air Division at Baden-Sollingen, this Hornet visited Leeuwarden with seven others. 188747 is seen here passing the ATC tower of Leeuwarden. The aircraft crashed years later when assigned to 4 Wing Cold Lake (AB). It crashed inside the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range in Saskatchewan during a weapons delivery mission, not far from the Primrose Lake Evaluation Range, on 28 November 2016.
