Probably given a USAAF livery because this is the USAF Airman Heritage Museum but unclear what the tail number stands for. True identity in small print under the horizontal stabiliser though: SNJ-4 51584. This US Navy trainer went civil in 1956 and crashed in November 1971 but could be saved well enough for display. On loan from the USAF Museum since 1993.

This Texan is actually ex US Navy 51584, N1395N. It was previously falsely painted as 93584, then as 1395N / TA-477 and finally as 93477 / TA-477. It is unclear why this is now marked as "548". Perhaps it is supposed to be part of its former actual US Navy serial 51584, but wrongly painted. This aircraft is one of the 31 aircraft on display at the Lackland parade field.
