This Atlantic made its first flight on 18 April 1966 and was delivered as UC-315 to the Marineflieger (German Naval Aviation) on 29 June 1966. It was reserialled to 6106. Out of the twenty Marineflieger Atlantics, five were converted during 1969 and 1970 into signals intelligence (SIGINT) aircraft, specialised in electronic reconnaissance of hostile radar systems and communications, 6106 was one of those five. Under the code name of Peace Peek, the conversions were done by E-systems in the USA. They can easily be distinguished by their differing radome under the fuselage.

Gate guard of the Nordholz air base

Still guarding the gate at Fliegerhorst Nordholz, which is opposite the Aeronauticum, the 'Deutsches Luftschiff- und Marinefliegermuseum Nordholz'. The connection with MFG 3 "Graf Zeppelin" is clear.
