On 5 June 2024, the RoKAF held their rehearsals for the last flight of the F-4E on 7 June 2024. Weeks before this event, this F-4E was furnished with special markings and titels on the fuselage: "From the hands of the People, to the hearts of the People, 1969-2024". The McDonnell Douglas built F-4E-64 was delivered under the US Foreign Military Sales program Peace Pheasant II and it carries FMS serial 78-0743. The aircraft made its first flight on 24 July 1979 and was delivered to the RoKAF in 1979 as 80-743. It was officially retired after the ceremony on 7 June 2024.
