Delivered new in 1959 to Braniff International Airways as N9701C, the airline's first Electra which served until 1969. Later registered in Ecuador, Brazil and Zaire. Joined Filair in 1994 but never entered service. Seen here in storage at Red Deer prior to conversion as a firebomber. Joined Air Spray initially as C-GBKT though finally operated for them as C-GFQA. Written off in a sadly fatal accident in June 2003 when, as Tanker 86, it flew into rising ground while firefighting near Cranbrook, British Columbia.

Delivered new to Braniff as N9701C in 04.59, serving until 03.69. Bought by Filair in 03.94 but stored at Calgary and became C-GBKT with Air Spray.
