This is one of just a few Mirage 5 Mirsip that have seen Belgian colours. Most noticeable are the canards on the intake. The MIRage Safety Improvement Program was an update program, that half way was canceled by the government. As halting the contract was more expensive than continuing, SABCA upgraded all aircraft that were in the contract. After finalizing the upgrade the Mirages were sold to Chile at a fraction of the upgrade costs.
