Once Canadian Air Force CH-147 with serial 147008 (c/n B732/G008). The Chinook was sold to the Netherlands and converted by Boeing to CH-47D from 1995, it received a new US serial 93-0666 and conversion number M3666 and company number B732. The helicopter was delivered to the KLu on 30 January 1996. The CH-47D was named 'The Beast' referring to the number 6, the number of the devil/beast. This Chinook deployed with the Dutch 1(NL) Air Task Force to Kandahar in 2006.

Chinook in special colors to celebrate 75 years 298 squadron. On left side she is decorated with the squadron badge dragonfly. On the right side you find the grizzly bear which is the squadron mascot and often used as callsign. In addition she is decorated with the sticker "75 years 1945-2020 298 squadron". The D-666 is chosen because she is flying 25 years for the squadron. She just dropped a bambi bucket to support the firebrigade at the wildfire of Deurnsche Peel

Built as a CH-147 with cn G-008, it was allocated US Army serial 74-22065 but this was not used, it went to the Canadian AF as 147008 where it was taken on charge in Oct-1976. It was struck of charge in Feb-1992 and then allocated US Army serial 93-0666 for rebuild as CH-47D with a new cn M3666/NL-006 and delivered to the Netherlands AF as D-666, taken on charge in Jan-1996. It is seen here with an underslung load.
