On this day the visibility was very bad due to sand being blown over by Easterly winds from the Sahara. At least four aircraft messed up their approach and had to go-around. This was one of them with the pilot executing a very tight turn to line up on his second attempt with the rw03 centreline. This 757 was delivered to Iberia in September 2000. It also flew with RAK Airways as A6-RKA and is still current with Icelandair as TF-LLX.
