Sadly the aircraft was destroyed on 8th August 1989 when, whilst on a flight from Liss to Popham, a loss of power was experienced and a precautionary landing made in a stubble field. Straw collected under the tail ignited rapidly engulfing the aircraft in flames and the fuel tank exploded. The remains were shipped to New Zealand for restoration which is currently ongoing.
