About to touch down on Runway 23 at Glasgow. Delivered new to Flyglobespan in 2005. Withdrawn from use when the airline ceased operations in December 2009 and put into storage. Emerged as SU-MWE of Midwest Airlines in 2010. Became UR-CLR of Kharkiv Airlines in 2013. Joined Nordwind Airlines in 2014 as VP-BOW.

Founded in April 2003, Flyglobespan ceased operation on 16th December 2009

Currently active with Nordwind Airlines registered VP-BOW at the time of upload.

Sold as SU-MWE in August 2010 and subsequently EI-FBT, UR-CLR and VP-BOW.

This Globespan had just arrived in the morning after having its red tail painted into full Globespan tail colours. It was parked on Stand 34 as I passed by.

Globespan's second 737-800 departs on another training flight from Glasgow after being delivered three days earlier. It has still to have its winglets and tail colours added before entering service. (10D ISO 100 1/500th at F8 235mm)

Globespan's second 737-800 was delivered to Glasgow the day before and still has winglets to be fitted and it's full tail colours to be added, this was it parked on Stand 8 in between training flights. (10D ISO 100 1/350th at F8 100mm)

All three of Globespan's 737-800's had blended winglets added just after the aircraft were delivered new from Boeing. The use of the red colour on the outside of them makes them stand out well. Below the nose you can see the Glasgow Airport Control Tower. Most of the main Airports in the UK have had new very tall Control Towers built in the past 5 years but the one at Glasgow is still the original from the Airports opening in 1966.
