Soon after BMED became a British Airways franchise operation.

By this time in the BA World Tails 'Whale Rider' colours, but with a very small British Mediterranean flash on the nose.

Seen at its Heathrow base and awaiting the commencement of services having been delivered new a few days earlier, this was the only aircraft to carry British Mediterranean's own colours. Beirut, Damascus and Amman were the first destinations, and in 1997 the airline became a British Airways franchise, flying 17 routes across the Middle East and Central Asia using six A320s in standard BA livery. Referred to as BMED from 2004, in 2007 it was sold to BMI. G-MEDA became VT-EYL with Indian Airlines 2006 (moving to Air India in 2007), YA-KMA with Kam Air in 2011 and EP-APG with Iran Aseman in 2015

This 320 was originally delivered to British Mediterranean Airways in October 1994 and after, this airline started operating as a BA franchise in July 1997 the plane acquired this Whale Rider scheme. It went on to fly with Indian Airlines, Air India (both as VT-EYL) and Kam Air (YA-KMA) before joining Iran Aseman in June 2014 YA-KMA and then EP-APG). The plane has been stored at Tehran (THR) since July 2019.

Delivered to British Mediterranean in October '94. Painted in British Airways c/s in November 1997. Over to Indian Airlines in May 2006 (VT-EYL). In October 2011 to Kam Air (YA-KMA). Left the fleet October 2014. Since April 2015 Iran Aseman Airlines (EP-APG).

The only aircraft which was seen in British Mediterranean livery ........ delivered in October 1994, this was the only aircraft in their fleet when B.Med initially began operations as an independent carrier. By March 1997, when their next two A320s arrived, B.Med had become a British Airways franchise operator, with all aircraft painted in full BA livery (World Images at that time).
