After overshooting runway 35 during an aborted takeoff on September 22, 2008, the aircraft was written off. However, Icaro still used it for its flight attendant training and this plane was taken to Salcedo (Cotopaxi province) and was preserved at "Rumipamba de las Rosas Hotel". The idea was to use it as a trainer for evacuations and ditchings, but Icaro went bankrupt in 2011. As of July 2021 it was moved to a private location near Cuenca.

After signing a contract with Barcelona Sporting Club soccer team from Guayaquil, Icaro painted this plane with this livery and was named "Canario 01". It was the official carrier of the team. Originally the radome was white but was later added the soccer ball design. Unfortunately the plane was written off after overshooting the runway in Quito on September 22, 2008.

Seen here wearing the white colors. This was done because some time later it would carry the Barcelona Sporting Club soccer team colors.

HC-CDT seen wearing its second livery. Of the 4 Icaro F28s, 2 of them had the standard livery (HC-CDA, HC-CDG) while HC-CDT and HC-CDW had different liveries. For some time it wore this "standard" livery, then underwent a few changes.
