On 6 March 2012, this IAI Kfir C2, former Israeli Air Force serial 820, flew under contract of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), but crashed while attempting an emergency landing at NAS Fallon (NV). The pilot reported emergency fuel status prior to the accident. Unfortunately, he was killed on the scene and his airplane was completely destroyed by impact forces and postcrash fire.
