Very rare outing for Directions Finningley's instructional HS748, which only lasted until the end of 2008 before being flown back to Southend and scrapped there in Nov 2009. Registration N748D was then re-used on HS-748 c/n 1689.

Ex Royal Aircraft Establishment XW750, last flight as such 31 Jan 2005 and stored at Boscombe Down. To G-ASJT on 9 Jan 2007, then to N748D on 18 Jan 2007. Briefly served as an instructional airframe with Directions Finningley at Doncaster (the blue and green colours date back to that time), before it was flown to Southend 20 Dec 2008 for storage. This aircraft was dismantled there in the summer of 2009, and on 3 Nov 2009 it was trucked away to an unknown destination, fate unclear. Shortly after this photo was taken, registration N748D was allocated to another HS-748, c/n 1689.
