Built in 1946 for Air France as F-BAZA. Later served TWA from 1950 until 1959. Operated by Air Nevada from 1968. Now preserved as a restaurant in West Milford, NJ.

This airplane, originally delivered to Air France as F-BAZA in September 1946, was flown into Greenwood Lake Airport in late 1976/early 1977. The original plan was to convert her into a restaurant. Pealing paint abounds with remnants of previous markings visible. Remains on display at the airport in 2018.

This grand old lady lingers on at Greenwood Lake. The good news is that there are no plans to scrap or remove the aircraft from the airport.

This historic Connie is intact and in surprisingly good condition.

After almost 25 years, the old girl is essentially complete and free of major corrosion. Since her arrival, the runway has been extended to 4,000 feet. One of only a very few L049 Connies still in existence, this rare bird needs to be rescued and preserved!

In the eight years since my first visit, little has changed other than the addition of a hastily applied coat of paint. The airplane was briefly used as a pilot's shop in the mid-1990's.
