A German oblate priest who had served as a medic and as a fighter pilot during World War I, Paul Schulte founded MIVA to provide missionaries with modern means of transport, including aircraft. In August 1938 he evacuated a priest from Arctic Bay, Nunavut in a Reliant - possibly this aircraft, which carries the MIVA logo on the nose, 'The Flying Priest' titles on the rear fuselage, and Rev Schulte's name on the tailfin. In 1942 the aircraft was impressed by the USAAF as UC-81L 42-107424. It reverted to NC16199 in May 1943 with Chicago and Southern Air Lines. Cancelled in May 1948, fate unknown.
