PIK-16 is a Finnish single-seat sailplane. It was designed by Kurt Hedström and Tuomo Tervo as scholary thesis within Polyteknikkojen Ilmailukerho. The aircraft was one of the last series-built wooden sailplanes. The prototype first flew in 1961. A V-tail proved unsuccessful and it was substituted by traditional T-tail. 56 Vasamas were built. 52 of them were version PIK-16c and 40 of them exported. The OH-571 was delivered first to a German customer (D-8016). The aircraft went back to Finland in 1980. (Ilmailumuseot.fi - Aviationmuseums.fi) [Nikon D750 + Tamron SP 24-70mm/2,8G VC]
