Leased to Trans European Aiwways from Abelag. Delivered to Gulf Air as A4O-BG in 1977. To Britannia Airways in 1979, Abelag as OO-ABB in 1980, Trans European Airways OO-TYB then back to Gulf Air as A4O-BG in 1982. To Sahsa as HR-SHQ in 1993, Copa as HP-1255CMP in 1994 then returned to the lessor as N359MT in 2004 and stored at Goodyear, AZ. Scrapped in 2006.

This Airbus participated in the Sanicole Airshow as one of the few not operating from Kleine Brogel, but from its home base Brussels. KB was granted a few flypasts though.

Delivered new to Finnair in June 2007 (OH-LQC). Returned to lessor in July 2016. In March 2018 delivered to Air Belgium. In December 2019 painted in special "Guadeloupe and Martinique" special cs, for one year only. Here seen on a charter for Surinam Airways to Paramaribo.

Painted in promotional "Martinique / Guadeloupe" colours (it has Guadeloupe titles on the other side), and overflying the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen nature reserve on downwind for Schiphol airport.

Acquired Jan 80 ex Gulf Air A4O-BG. Airline renamed Air Belgium in March 80, so these Abelag Airways titles were only worn a couple of months. Also later operated with TEA as OO-TYB, SAHSA as HR-SHQ and COPA as HP-1255CMP. Seen stored Goodyear AZ. in Nov 2004 as N359MT.

Seen here about to land on runway 09L on the first of a short series of substitutions by British Airways on their Heathrow-Cairo route due to continuing Trent engine problems with their B789s. The aircraft then moved onto Abu Dhabi services and was still operating that route at the end of October 2018. Flying their first schedules in March 2018 to Hong Kong from Charleroi, Air Belgium have four A340s but this route was operated only briefly before suspension. Although the intention to fly to three mainland China destinations was announced, they now intend concentrating on charters.
