Finally the Orange VLM paid us a visit up North. In the last week of service it was scheduled multiple times (thank you VLM!) which enabled me to get a shot of it. A special livery supporting the Dutch national football team in their quest for the 2008 European Cup.

Operated by VLM Airlines for Vizion Air in their colours, but still named "Spirit of VLM". The name was removed shortly after this photo was taken.

First used by Aer Lingus as EI-FKF in 1991. At time of upload, the aircraft remains in service in Kenya as 5Y-JWX.

In special colours in support of the national (Dutch!) football team

VLM's "The green machine", officially unveiled on 23 Sep 2008. Titles on the nose say: "92 g CO₂ / seat / km - A convenient truth".

Leased from VLM Airlines. Showing a quote by Jonathan Swift: "Vizion is the art of seeing the invisible", referring of course to this Belgian airline's name.

VLM commented: 'We are marking the success of our services to and from Holland by repainting one of our aircraft. We wanted to express our support to the Dutch team because unfortunately the Belgian team didn't qualify for the European football championship. VLM not only operates Dutch-built aircraft, but many of our staff are Dutch. The 'orange madness' has struck us.'

First flown in 1991, this airframe was originally delivered to Aer Lingus.
