Eleven aircraft, all designed and built in the Netherlands, with the bustling port of Rotterdam in the background. The sole FK.42 is flanked by the FK.41 prototype, PH-AER, and another unmarked FK.41. Behind the Koolhovens are one Pander D and three Pander E trainers of the NLS flying school: PH-ADL, PH-ADW, PH-AEJ and PH-AKA. The KLM Fokker airliners are the large F.IX PH-AGA, F.VIIb/3m PH-AEZ, F.VIII PH-AEG, and F.VIIa PH-ACJ. Photo from: Nationaal Archief (Netherlands)

The FK.42 was presumably built for Frits Koolhoven's personal use. It used an FK.41 wing and the authorities called it an FK.41e. It was sold to and crashed by its new owner in 1932. Photo from: Nederlands Instituut voor Militaire Historie
