The aircraft was withdrawn from RAF service in in he mid-1970s and sent to No 1 School of Technical Training, (SoTT), at RAF Halton for use as an engineering instructional airframe. It was one of a number of airframes declared surplus and put out for disposal in the early 1990s, moved to the Otterburn Ranges in 1994, and thought to have been scrapped there in 1999.
