This is a Super Hind owned by Advanced Technologies and Engineering (ATE), the South African company that upgraded Russian built Mi-24s with better avionics and weapons, largely based on what was also used in the Rooivalk helicopters. Algeria and Azerbaijan were the only customers. Algeria had its Super Hinds re-upgraded to Mk. III standard in 2001. ATE also developed Mk. IV and Mk. V versions. Given that this picture was taken in 2008, it is possible that this is a later version. ATE had two Super Hinds themselves: this ZU-BOI and ZU-GAL.
Registration / Serial:ZU-BOI
Aircraft Version:ATE Super Hind III
