Delivered to Iberia in July 1994 as EC-608. Reregistered EC-FYJ in October 1994. To Icelandair in July 2002 as TF-FIR. Leased to Aeromar between July 2002 and February 2003. Leased to Avianca between October and December 2003. Transferred to Loftleidir Icelandic in August 2004, but back to Icelandair in June 2005. Painted in the "Vatnajökull" special colors in May 2017.

With dorsal fairing for the satellite Internet antennae and before being renamed Vatnajökull. Askja is an active volcano in central Iceland.

After a severe cutback due to the economic recession in Iceland their National Airline has started back again at Glasgow flying three times a week at a good time for photos during the Winter of early afternoon. This one had pushed back from stand at 3pm for departure. (Canon 40D 50mm)
