Wartime 5th Air Force P-40N 42-105861 was abandoned at Dumpu Airfield in Papua New Guinea. The fuselage was recovered in 1974 and stored at Chino, CA. Restoration began in 1996 with parts from two other P-40s (42-104959 / wings and cockpit section and 42-105526 / tail surfaces). For the first flight after restoration on Mar 1, 2008 the fighter was registered N49FG.

This Smith Miniplane was built in Atlin in Northwestern BC by Herman and Doris Anderson and it first flew in 1967. I was donated to the museum in 2003. Photo taken by Margaret Olafson.
