Bird of metal at Lucknow Zoo. "Rajhans" is one of two Tu-124K survivors. The other aircraft, "Rajdoot" is at IAF Museum Palam. The third aircraft, "Pushpaka" was lost with the cockpit crew in a landing accident at Jorhat on 4 Nov 1977 that had the PM on board. The Tu-124K served with Air HQ Communication Sqn. from 1966-84. One could see them operate frequently at Palam

Above all in India this was the target I most wanted to shoot. Nicely preserved and looking like it's ready for another VIP mission, this was one of three delivered to India in Oct 1966. V642 was recently rediscovered in Lucknow (that is what I call Luck Now!) preserved sat the zoo and V643 crashed on landing at Jorhat in Assam on 5.11.77
