Acquired by Aero Spacelines Inc. as N404Q, and stored for spares. Re-registered to N9600H in 1967, hand-painted registration barely visible on the lower rear fuselage just behind the wing. Photographer unknown.

After Transocean shut down, this aircraft remained at Oakland for some years, slowly deteriorating while ownership passed through several companies. It was finally scrapped in place in 1968/1969. This was the final production Stratocruiser built.

Built in 1949 for BOAC as G-AKGH and in 1965 it was registered to Aero Spacelines, of Guppy fame, who likely used it for spare parts.

Arriving from Heathrow to pick up Manchester passengers for the scheduled flight via Prestwick to Idlewild (later JFK). The aircraft served BOAC from new in 01.50 until sale to Transocean in 09.58 as N86Q.

This Strat is operating the LHR-Ringway-Prestwick-Idlewild (JFK) schedule. She served BOAC from February 1950 until sale in January 1959 and wears unusually large company titling.
