VH-FXM was sold in Indonesia as PK-FDD. The airstrip at the Transavia factory allowed aircraft to be flown out, usually to Camden airport (YSCN), for testing. Encroaching development and the needs of the growing parent company Transfield resulted in the airstrip being closed. By then very few aircraft were being built. VH-TRM was wrecked at Schofields, Sydney, on April 7 1979, when the banner it was towing failed to release and the aircraft pitched into the ground inverted. The pilot and passenger survived with minor injuries. The PL-12U was a utility version of the PL-12 cropduster with cargo and passenger space in place of the chemical hopper.
