Serial 664 was the first production standard Vickers FB. 5 Gunbus and this aircraft saw its first action on Christmas Day 1914, when it took off from Joyce Green Airfield, Dartford, Kent, England, to engage a German Friedrichschafen FF29. Seen here with its original semi-circular tailplane probably at Brooklands Airfield, Surrey, England. Scanned from an original (republished) photograph by the Real Photographic Company, Liverpool. From my collection, date, and photographer unknown.
