VL Sääski II is a twin-seat biplane for training purposes. Osakeyhtiö Sääski offered Sääski II to the Defence Ministry. Due to the delay in Blackburn Ripon building on licence, the Minister of Defence ordered 10 Sääski IIs from the State Aircraft Factory in 1929. Later the Finnish Air Force ordered 22 Sääksi IIs more. SÄ-122 belongs to the first delivery slot and it served from 1930 to 1936. All VL Sääski IIs were grounded before September 1942.
