Formerly VH-UZJ "Kyilla" with ANA. Rushed into RAAF service at the outbreak of World War II. With the impending arrival of second-hand DC-2s from the US, it was returned to ANA in June 1940. A month after being delivered to the RAAF it landed with the brakes on resulting in accident shown in the photo. John Harrison photo of VH-UZK over Melbourne soon after delivery. In 1939 it was impressed by the RAAF as A30-2 for five months until other aircraft aircraft could be sourced overseas. -UZK was destroyed on November 8, 1948 when it flew into Mount Macedon. It had not long departed Melbourne for Deniliquin when the captain departed the approved track under IFR conditions.
