The Oases Trophy contest in Egypt in December 1933 consisted of a two-day rally, the Circuit of the Oases, plus a speed trial. In February 1937 Schwabe crashed it during the Oases air rally in Egypt, which was won by a Ju 86, D-AKOP. Schwabe was killed in another crash as a Luftwaffe reserve officer in August 1937. Deutschlandflug (German Air Rally), late August 1933. 126 planes competed, of which almost two-thirds were Klemm L 25s, L 26s and Kl 32s. In the background are Junkers of Lufthansa.
