German-looking scenery, but owner Karl Schwabe made several flights to Africa with this plane. Before 1935 it was registered as D-2728. In February 1937 Schwabe crashed it during the Oases air rally in Egypt, which was won by a Ju 86, D-AKOP. Schwabe was killed in another crash as a Luftwaffe reserve officer in August 1937. Deutschlandflug (German Air Rally), late August 1933. 126 planes competed, of which almost two-thirds were Klemm L 25s, L 26s and Kl 32s. In the background are Junkers of Lufthansa. All the planes already wear the black, white and red flag on the right and the swastika flag on the left side as decreed by the new Nazi regime on 6 July. The odd one out is the Heinkel HD.22 bottom right, which was bought by the US Army for the military attaché in Berlin with serial 30-420! Photo from: Nationaal Archief (Netherlands)
